Diagnosis. This group is characterized by the mesonotum fully (or almost) covered by the pronotum; the macropterous female is without an elevated projection on the posterior angle of the pronotum; the female middle femur is cylindrical and unmodified; the apterous female abdomen is without a dorsal longitudinal median carina; female connexival margins are never expanded; the hind tibia has an apical spur, which when present is not crescent shaped; and the posterolateral margins of abdominal segment VII surrounding the male genital cavity are without black denticles ( Polhemus 1997; Moreira et al. 2012). The geographical distributions of the species of the robusta group recorded from Brazil are summarized in Table 2 View TABLE 2 .
