Discussion: Ellerman and Morrison-Scott (1951) and Corbet (1978 c) listed gotschobi and lghesicus as synonyms of nivalis , but Pavlinov and Rossolimo (1987, 1998) and Pavlinov et al. (1995 a) included them in C. gud . Dental traits indicate a closer relationship to C. roberti than to C. nivalis (Nadachowski, 1991) . In Turkey, the species has been collected at the same localities as C. nivalis but prefers more mesic habitats (Kryštufek, 1999 c).
