Leptonetela quinquespinata ( Chen & Zhu, 2008) comb. nov.

Qianleptoneta quinquespinata Chen & Zhu, 2008:12 , figs 1–11.

Diagnosis. Leptonetela quinquespinata is most similar to sympatric L. hexacantha sp. nov., but may be distinguished by the absence of median apophysis on pedipalpal bulb, the presence of equidistant five spurs on pedipalpal tibia, the contacted spermathecae distally and the triangular atrium.

Description. Holotype male. Total length 2.05. Prosoma 0.80 long, 0.70 wide. Sternum 0.70 long, 0.68 wide. Opisthosoma 1.05 long, 0.80 wide. Dorsal shield of prosoma pale yellow, subquadrate, smooth, a pair of stiff setae on apex of cephalic area, another pair at clypeal area. Cervical groove and radial furrows distinct, pale yellow. Thoracic median groove absent, with a seta anteriorly. Eyes absolutely absent. Chelicerae yellow, longer than endites in length, fang furrow with 7 promarginal and 2–5 retromarginal teeth. Endites and labium yellow, with long hairs. Labium rebordered. Sternum subround, length equal to width. Legs yellow. Pedipalp measurement: 1.87 (0.72, 0.21, 0.48, 0.46). Leg measurements: I 11.80 (3.32, 0.46, 3.27, 2.81, 1.84); II 10.34 (2.94, 0.38, 2.87, 2.45, 1.70); III 8.99 (2.60, 0.38, 2.48, 2.18, 1.35); IV 10.85 (3.07, 0.38, 3.10, 2.68, 1.62). Leg formula: I-IV-II-III. Opisthosoma pale yellow, ovoid, with small spots and hairs.

Pedipalpal femur with a basal, 5 dorsal and 5 ventral setae. One dorsal spine at patella distally. Pedipalpal modified by 3 dorsal trichobothria and 5 retrolateral spurs, of them tibial spur I largest, no bifurcated. Tarsus rugose, contracted mesially, modified by an earlobe-shaped process and 11 long setae. Pedipalpal bulb subround, smooth. Conductor broad, developed. Embolus small triangular. Median apophysis absent.

Female. Similar to male in general features and somatic coloration, but body size larger and legs shorter. Total length 2.38. Prosoma 1.13 long, 0.83 wide. Sternum 0.68 long, 0.60 wide. Clypeus 0.10 high. Eye absent. Chelicerae yellow, longer than endites in length, fang furrow with 9 promargianl and 5 retromarginal teeth. Pedipalpal femur spineless, a long seta at patella dorsally. Three trichobothria on pedipalpal tibia dorsally. Pedipalpal tarsus modified by 6 basal and 10 distal setae. Pedipalpus measurement: 2.39 (0.83, 0.20, 0.63, 0.73). Leg measurements: I 10.16 (2.80, 0.43, 2.94, 2.41, 1.58); II 9.25 (2.67, 0.40, 2.54, 2.15, 1.49); III 8.14 (2.34, 0.36, 2.24, 1.91, 1.29); IV 9.61 (2.81, 0.33, 2.67, 2.31, 1.49). Leg formula: I-IV-II-III.

Genital area covered with densely plumose long hairs. Internal genitalia consisting of a pair of kinkled spermathecae and sperm ducts, spermathecae sclerotized distinctly, contacted distally. Atrium is broad, triangular.

Distribution. Known only from type locality.
