Type material: Holotype: male ( IZCAS), Kouhuang Cave (Alt.: 1030 m; T.: 11 ºC; H.: 92%), Songjiang Village , Disong Town, Fuquan City [26°46.170´N, 107°34.468´E, Guizhou, China], 28 May 2007, Y.C. Lin and J. Liu leg. GoogleMaps Paratypes: 15 males and 86 females, same data as holotype ( IZCAS) GoogleMaps .

Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition and derived from the Latin words “ maxilla ” (= endites) and “ costatus ” (= with a ridge, or striated), in reference to the presence of a middle ridge on the endites.

Diagnosis. The new species can be distinguished from all the other congeners by the presence of a transversal ridge on endite, the tibial spurs of pedipalp mostly converged at the middle ventrally except two spurs at tibia retro-distally.

Description. Holotype male. Total length 1.90. Prosoma 1.00 long, 0.90 wide. Sternum 0.58 long, 0.56 wide. Opisthosoma 1.04 long, 0.78 wide. Dorsal shield of prosoma brown, smooth centrally, two setae on antrolateral area of PME, short setae along anterior margin of clypeus. Thoracic median groove absent, cervical groove and radial furrows faint. Clypeus 0.16 high, slightly sloped anteriorly. Six eyes, on black bases. Eye sizes: ALE 0.11, PLE 0.10, PME 0.09; ALE-ALE 0.02, ALE-PME 0.14, PLE-PLE 0.12, PLE- PME 0.04; AER 0.20, PER 0.22. Major axes of PLE convergent posteriorly. Chelicerae longer than endites, brown yellow, fang furrow with 10 promarginal and 6 retromarginal teeth. Endites brown, a darkish ridge in the middle. Labium pale brown. Sternum brown and legs yellow. Leg measurements: I 9.38 (2.60, 0.35, 2.93, 2.05, 1.45); II 6.98 (2.00, 0.33, 2.05, 1.50, 1.10); III 5.63 (1.65, 0.30, 1.53, 1.25, 0.90); IV 7.36 (2.15, 0.33, 2.18, 1.70, 1.00). Leg formula: I-IV-II-III. All femurs spineless. One dorsal spine at patella distally. Each tibia modified by 5 trichobothria and 2 spines. A row of thin retrolateral hairs along tibiae I and II respectively. All metatarsi with only one trichobothrium. Metatarsi II and III attaching a ventral serrated hairs-comb on base respectively. Opisthosoma ovoid, purple brown, dorsally darker than ventrally, rugose posteriorly, covered with hairs on surface.

Pedipalpal femur spineless. One dorsal spine at patella distally. Three dorsal trichobothria, 4 prolateral and 3 retrolateral spurs concentrated on tibia mesialy, additional 2 spurs retro-distally. Tarsus slightly contracted mesialy, not wrinkled, earlobe-shaped process absent, 3 large setae modified tarsus distally and ventrally. Pedipalpal bulb subround, prolateral lobe and conductor undeveloped. Embolus narrow and sharp. Median apophysis absent.

Female. General features similar to male, but body size larger and legs shorter. Total length 2.08. Prosoma 0.94 long, 0.92 wide. Sternum 0.56 long, 0.50 wide. Opisthosoma 1.36 long, 1.02 wide. Clypeus 0.16 high. Six eyes with black rings. Eye sizes: ALE 0.10, PLE 0.08, PME 0.06; ALE-ALE 0.02, ALE-PME 0.12, PLE- PLE 0.14, PLE-PME 0.04; AER 0.18, PER 0.21. Chelicerae brown, fang furrow with 9 promarginal and 6 retromarginal teeth. Endites and labium pale brown. Sternum and legs brown yellow. Leg measurements: I 8.15 (2.20, 0.35, 2.50, 1.80, 1.30); II 6.08 (1.70, 0.33, 1.75, 1.30, 1.00); III 4.90 (1.40, 0.30, 1.30, 1.10, 0.80); IV 6.61 (1.85, 0.33, 1.93, 1.55, 0.95). Leg formula: I-IV-II-III. The chaetotaxy of each leg same as in male.

Genital area covered with densely plumose long hairs. Internal genitalia consisting of paired spermathecae and sperm ducts, kinkled and sclerotized weakly, contacted each other distally. The atrium broad, smooth anteriorly and rugose posteriorly, appending modified short hairs at antromargin mesially.

Distribution. Known only from type locality.
