8. Furgasonia rubens Perty, 1852 ( Fig. 1H )

Diagnosis: Body size 45 × 15 μm in protargol preparations; body ellipsoidal, anterior and posterior body ends rounded; rigid. Macronuclear nodule spherical to elliptical, positioned at posterior half­body with spherical to elliptical micronucleus. Contractile vacuole at mid­body, one excretory pore. Cytoplasm colorless. Usually 40 somatic kineties and 3 nassulid organelles.

Remark: The Korean populations showed slightly less number of somatic kineties than F. rubens sensu Dragesco and Dragesco­Kernéis, 1986 while Cyclograma protectisiima sensu Grolière, 1974 seems to be conspecific to the Korean one. Further investigation using modern techniques are necessary for precise identification and description.
