Remarks. Speocarcinus lobatus was described in great detail by Felder & Rabalais (1986). It mostly resembles young S. carolinensis and for the distinction between these species see under S. carolinensis .
Distribution. Off Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas and the Gulf coast of Florida, between 6 and 65 m.
