Caloneis linearis (Grunow) Boyer (Pl. 5, Fig. 9) References: Stidolf et al. 2000, pl. 16, fig. 84; Wikowski et al. 2000, p.166, pl. 160, fig. 12. Features: Apical axis: 40-42 µm, transapical axis: 5 µm, striae very fine. Valves linear with round apices and parallel sides. Raphe straight, slightly bent near the center, axial area narrow, central area small and round. Striae weakly radiate throughout.
Remarks: Only few small specimens were observed. Marine species widely distributed in coastal regions.
Occurrence: Very rare in Rodrigues Island.
