Subfamily Catenariinae Bamber, 2013
Amended diagnosis: Female: leptocheliids with antennule in adults bearing three peduncular segments and two flagellar segments, although the proximal flagellar segment may fuse to the distal peduncular article; aesthetascs borne on the proximal flagellar segment only. Antenna article 2 with distal setae, article 3 with distal spine. Maxilliped endite distal spines pointed or blunt. Cheliped carpus slender, more than twice as long as wide, without distal cuff; dactylus of cheliped with proximal seta. Pereopod 1 dactylus longer than unguis, both together longer than propodus, dactylus with proximal seta. Pleopod endopod with inner marginal seta. Uropod exopod one- or two-segmented. Mature males unknown.
Genera included: Catenarius Bamber, 2008 (type-genus); Ektraleptochelia gen. nov.; Larsmentia gen. nov.
