Record numbers (FAO classification): FAO37: 5, FAO51: 3; total: 8.

Remarks: This is probably a Mediterranean species in the sargassi group reported from different substrates in a few intertidal and subtidal localities. However, this species was also relatively recently reported from the Indian Ocean, although in our opinion, these records need confirmation.
