Bagrus trachipomus ZBK Valenciennes in Cuvier & Valenciennes, 1840a: 442. Type locality: Bengal. Holotype: MNHN A- 9346 .
Hexanematichthys leptocassis ZBK Bleeker, 1861: 65. Type locality: Pinang , Malaysia. No types known.
Distribution: South and southeast Asia.
Countries: Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and Philippines.
Habitat: Marine and brackish waters.
Maximum size: 920 mm TL.
Material examined: ANSP 74851 (3 al, 56-71 mm TL), India, Calicut ; LACM 38131-50 (4 al, 178-320 mm TL), Pakistan, Sind ; USNM 207092 (1 al, 117 mm TL), India ; USNM 149731 (3 al, 111-131 mm TL), India, Travancore .
