WL: 15mm. This species also occurs in Guinea savanna and is similar to M. silenus , but it is somewhat smaller and lacks the chestnut wing tips. The nominate subspecies ranges from Senegal to Nigeria, Cameroon, Congo and Uganda, while M. s. nuba flies in Sudan. The caterpillars also feed on Ficus (Moraceae).
