WL: 12mm. Previously reported by Mendes et al. (2008) as Anthene crawshayi crawshayi , the subspecies’ identification is updated. It is typical of Guinea savanna, and the nominate subspecies is found throughout most of sub-Saharan Africa; the present subspecies is known from Mauritania to northern Cameroon and a third one occurs in South Africa. The caterpillars feed on Acacia and possibly on other Fabaceae .
