238. Borbo borbonica borbonica ( Boisduval, 1833) View in CoL
WL: 19mm. B. borbonica is a skipper known to occur mainly in dry savanna, though it also enters degraded forest. The species has a pan-Afican distribution and was described from Reunion Island. Subspecies B. b. zelleri flies in North Africa, and was reported by Larsen (2005) as a potential synonym of the nominate subspecies. B. b. morella is restricted to the Aldabra and Seychelles Islands. The caterpillars are polyphagous and feed on Poaceae .
