WL: 24mm. J. orithya is a species of the Sudan savanna, able to inhabit degraded forest areas. Often migratory, it occurs throughout mainland Africa, Madagascar and the Seychelles. The caterpillars are polyphagous, feeding on several Acanthaceae , Convolvulaceae , Plantaginaceae , Scrophulariaceae and Verbenaceae .
Studied material. Cacheu : Cacheu, 27.10.2009, 1 specimen (FR). Caió , 2 specimens (JB). Cansamanje, woodland, 22.02.2013, 1♀ (SV) (CZ000011010). Gabú: Cumpangol , no date, 1 specimen (FR).
