WL: 26mm. This species is typical of well preserved forest, but also flies in shadowy areas of degraded forest. It ranges from Senegal to DRC and Angola. J. s. gregori, known from the Rift valley and reported by Ackery et al. (1995) at the subspecific level, is currently considered a valid species (Larsen, 2005), rendering J. stygia monobasic. The host-plants are Acanthaceae of the genera Asystasia , Barleria , Justicia, Paulowilhelmia and Phaulopsis .
