Conomorphus rufipes Pic 1907 a:174 ; Blair 1928:32 (in Omineus ). HOLOTYPE or
LECTOTYPE. Sex unknown, labelled ‘‘ Perak Malacca /type/ TYPE /Conomor-
phus rufipes Pic. ,’’ in MNHN, Pic Coll. ( PYTHIDAE ). NOTE: Three other
specimens in series, two with small red labels, labelled ‘ Perak Malacca’ and
‘ Perak Doherty’. Conomorphus curticollis Pic 1907 b:183 ; Blair 1928:32 (in Omineus ). HOLOTYPE.
Sex unknown, labelled ‘‘Palem_ang SUMATRA [blank space indicating
illegible letter in locality name]/ type / Conomorphus curticollis Pic / TYPE /
Microconomorphus Pic ,’’ in MNHN, Pic Coll, new synonym. These two species were originally described in Conomorphus , which is restricted to the New World tropics. Pic (1917) described the genus Microconomorphus , placing it near Conomorphus and Phalysius Champion (¼ Omineus Lewis ). Conomorphus rufipes and C. curticollis were removed from Conomorphus and placed in Microconomorphus , based on their narrower pronotum and larger eyes ( Pic 1917). Blair (1928) had not seen Pic’s (1917) paper, and placed these two species incorrectly, in Omineus .
