Rhagovelia triangula is a relatively common species in altitudes between 1,000 and 1,500 m a.s.l. on southeastern Brazil (Moreira 2012). It is herein recorded from the Maciço de Itatiaia , in the border between Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro states .
Examined material. Minas Gerais – Bocaina de Minas, Morro Cavado Stream , 06.IV.2001: 1 apterous female ( DZRJ) . Minas Gerais / Rio de Janeiro – Bocaina de Minas / Itatiaia, Preto River , 17.XII.2006, (F. F. F. Moreira, V. P. Alecrim & R. B. Braga): 3 apterous males, 1 apterous female ( DZRJ) ; Maringá, Preto River , 04.X.1993, (L. F. Dorvillé & J. L. Nessimian): 20 apterous males, 9 macropterous males, 5 apterous females, 7 macropterous females ( DZRJ) ; Preto River, Poção do Maromba , 16.XII.2006, (F. F. F. Moreira, V. P. Alecrim & R. B. Braga): 29 apterous males, 20 macropterous males, 21 apterous females, 30 macropterous females ( DZRJ) .
