Genus Strumigenys F. Smith

Strumigenys is a predominantly tropical genus, represented in California by a single, nonnative species, S. silvestrii Emery. Species in this genus whose biology has been studied are specialist predators of springtails and other small arthropods. References: Bolton ( 1999, 2000), Brown ( 1959 f), Brown and Wilson ( 1959 b), Dejean ( 1987), Wilson ( 1954 a).
