Loc. typ.: China, Yunnan.
This species is the earliest described of this group and of the entire genus from China (Holotype in Fig. 26 View FIGURES 25–28 ). It seems rather common in the Yulongshan area in north Yunnan, since I have seen several specimens collected in different moments by different expeditions.
Description. Habitus as in Fig. 10 View FIGURES 9–12 . The combination of characters allowing to distinguish this species are: length 10.1–12.3 mm; integuments metallic green; body rather convex; legs and antennae dark brown, of medium length; head broad, with mandibles almost as long as the rest of the head; eyes well-developed and convex; pronotum anteriorly wide, then markedly constricted and sinuate towards the base; basal angles almost square; elytra very broad, oval, widest almost in the middle, with striae well marked; shoulders rounded, without a tooth. Median lobe of aedeagus with apical portion almost as long as basal portion; in lateral view straight before apex, in dorsal view very broad and asymmetrical, without tooth but angulate on the left side ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 37–38 ). Ratios: El/Pl = 2.16; Ew/Pw = 1.47; El/Ew = 1.46.
