Stomis robustus Sciaky, 1998 View in CoL
Loc. typ.: S Sichuan, 30 km NW Muli-Bowa, 3500 m.
Described upon a couple of specimens from a locality in South Sichuan, it had never been collected since then. I have recently examined a further male specimen from the same area but a different locality. It is extremely similar to the type specimen, from which it only differs in the slightly inferior length: 11 mm.
Description. Habitus as in Fig. 19 View FIGURES 17–20 . The combination of characters allowing to distinguish this species are: length 11–13.3 mm; integuments black, rather shiny; body convex; femora and tibiae blackish, tarsi and antennae reddish, long and slender; head large, with mandibles distinctly longer than the rest of the head; pronotum anteriorly very broad, with lateral margins evidently constricted then rectilinear towards the base; elytra very broad, oval, with all striae rather deep; shoulders rounded and without tooth. Median lobe of aedeagus with apical portion slightly longer than basal portion; in lateral view rather thick and almost rectilinear before apex, in dorsal view constricted and short, with triangular apical lamella ( Fig. 43 View FIGURES 43–47 ). Ratios: El/Pl = 2.07; Ew/Pw = 1.39; El/Ew = 1.40.
Distribution. South Sichuan.
Material examined: Holotype ♂: S Sichuan, 30 km NW Muli-Bowa , 3500 m. ( CS); S Sichuan, pass SW of Mianning, Rhododendron , primary deciduous forest: 1 ♂ ( CS).
