Ficus chiribiquetensis Dugand, Caldasia View in CoL 2: 375. 1944.
Lectotype (designated here): — COLOMBIA. Vaupés, Río Macaya, Cerro Chiribiquete , 16 May 1945, Schultes 5445 (COL-15345!; isolectotypes: COL-15343!, COL-15344!, COL-15346!, SI!, US!).
Nomenclatural notes:— In the protologue, there is no reference to which specimen in the herbarium COL is the type of F. chiribiquetensis is. There are four preparations from a single gathering (Schultes 5445) with no clear indication on the label whether these are parts of the same specimen ( Turland et al. 2018, Art. 8.3). Therefore, they are considered four duplicates and we designate Schultes 5445 (COL-15345) as the lectotype because it contains branches, leaves, syconia, and stipules.
Taxonomical notes:— The currently accepted name for this taxon is Ficus americana subsp. guianensis .
