Type Locality: Peru, San Martin, Puca Tambo, 5100 ft. (1555 m).

Vernacular Names: Yellow-tailed Woolly Monkey.

Synonyms: Oreonax hendeei ( Thomas 1927) .

Distribution: E Andes in San Martin ( Peru) and Amazonas ( Brazil).

Conservation: CITES – Appendix I as Lagothrix flavicauda ; U.S. ESA – Endangered as L. flavicauda ; IUCN – Critically Endangered.
