Leptodesma sp. ( Fig. 6R View Fig ).—A single pyritised internal mould has been found. The characteristic shell shape, the long and simple hinge margin and medium−sized prosogyre top suggest it is assignable to Leptodesma . However, the absence of diagnostic features on this internal mould of a juvenile shell, e.g., ornamentation, makes recognition of the species difficult. Leptodesma has a worldwide distribution in late Palaeozoic (see Cox et al. 1969).
