Euetheola Bates 1888: 314 . Type species: Heteronychus humilis Burmeister 1847: 93 .
Diagnosis. The species of this genus are differentiated from other pentodontines by having the mandibles hidden under the clypeus and the pronotum without an apical fovea or tubercle. The species of Euetheola can be mistaken for some Stenocrates species ( Cyclocephalini ) by their general appearance and by having a frontal carina. However, Stenocrates species do not have clypeal teeth.
Distribution. Euetheola contains four species widely distributed in the New World, ranging from the southern United States of America to South America, and two occur in Colombia.
