Type material. Lectotype (USNM 24117) designated by Ferreira 0 1.03. 1983 in MS, published by Kaas & Van Belle (1987).

Type locality. China, Hong Kong.

Material examined. Taiwan, South China Sea, N/O Fishery Researcher 1, “ TAIWAN 2000”, stn CP2, 23°38.4’N, 119°53.3’E, 85 m, 2 spms, BL 7.0–10.0 mm, 27.07.2000; stn CP4, 23°15.9’N, 119°50.0’E, 129 m, 1 spm, BL 13.0 mm, 27.07.2000

Distribution. Yellow and East China seas, Taiwan, Hong Kong and north Vietnam, intertidal– 129 m.

Remarks. Lepidozona bisculpta is very similar to L. coreanica ( Reeve, 1847) and differs from the latter by the absence of radial ribs in the head valve and by having 7–9 longitudinal ribs on the dorsal scale (vs. 17–20 ribs in L. coreanica ).
