Diagnosis. P. dentatum n. sp. is well characterized by its wide tegmina. The stridulatory area of the left tegmen is long and raised. Characters differentiating P. dentatum n. sp. from other Phlaurocentrum species are the following: male 10 th tergite ending with a wide plate medially concave with two downcurved pointed apices, indented on the inner side. Cerci long and bent at right angles, the fine apices with 2–3 small spines. Titillators short and flat, apically indented. Stridulatory area of the left tegmen of the male long and yellow (cf. Table 1 View TABLE 1 ).
Description. Male. Colour. Brown, tegmina with cream spots; upper part of the head and pronotum and posterior margin of tegmina darker than the rest of the body; a yellow line borders the sides of pronotal disc. Antennae brown. Stridulatory area of the male yellow. Legs yellowish. Legs: long, fore coxae armed, fore femora with 8 spines on the inner ventral margin, fore tibiae with 5 spines on inner and on outer ventral margins, mid femora with 6 spines on inner ventral margin, mid tibiae with 8 spines on inner ventral and 9 on outer ventral margin, hind femora with 7 spines on ventral margins, hind tibiae with 10–12 spines on outer and 5–7 on inner ventral margin. Tegmina. Stridulatory area raised and long, stridulatory file under the left tegmen with more than 200 teeth very closely packed. Abdomen. 10 th tergite ending with a wide plate medially concave with downcurved lateral apices, apically pointed and indented on the inner side. Cerci long, bent at right angle, the fine apex covered by 2–3 teeth. Sub-genital plate narrow with a small emargination, styli quite long. Titillators short and flat, apically indented.
Measurements (mm). Male. Total length: 19.2; length of pronotum: 4.7; height of pronotum: 4.1; length of hind femora: 26.2; length of tegmina: 37.0; width of tegmina: 8.0.
Etymology. Named after the small teeth present in the lateral lobes of the tenth tergite, cerci and titillators.
Distribution. Presently known only from Mondika camp, Nouabalé-Ndoki National Park ( Republic of Congo).
