Phlaurocentrum lobatum Ragge, 1962 View in CoL

Ragge, 1962, Bull. Br. Mus. (Nat. Hist.) Ent. 13: 9; type locality: Eala ( Democratic Republic of Congo); depository: RMAC, Tervuren (♁ holotypus) .

Phlaurocentrum morettoi Massa, 2013 View in CoL , new synonym.

Massa, 2013, Jour. Orth. Res. 22(2): 133; type locality: Dzanga-Ndoki Nat. Park ; depository: MCSN, Genoa (♁ holotypus) .

Remarks. When Massa (2013) described P. morettoi the peculiar character of the tenth abdominal tergite was not compared with that of P. lobatum ; they are flat and very similar, in particular the slight indentation of the cerci apically. Also the apex of the tenth tergite has a slight apical indentation, not recorded or even drawn by Ragge (1962). The types of P. lobatum were collected in the Congo River Basin, like those of P. morettoi ; thus, it is here proposed the following synonymy: Phlaurocentrum morettoi Massa, 2013 junior synonym of Phlaurocentrum lobatum Ragge, 1962 .

Distribution. Democratic Republic of Congo (as P. lobatum ), Central African Republic and Gabon (as P. morettoi ).
