Rhodococcus Borchsenius, 1953: 283 View in CoL . Type species: Rhodococcus rosaeluteae Borchsenius View in CoL by original designation.
Diagnostic characters of the adult female: In life, adult female at maturity strongly convex, almost spherical, with margins bent underneath body, and with various grooves and rows of indented spots on dorsum; often with colourful bands. Slide-mounted body with dorsal surface much larger than venter. Stigmatic clefts shallow or absent. Stigmatic setae differentiated, numbering 2 per spiracular cleft, shorter than marginal setae, each spine bent, bluntly pointed. Dorsal tubular ducts present or absent; preopercular pores absent. Anal ring simple, apparently without pores and bearing either very short or no setae. Venter with 1‒3 pregenital segments each bearing a pair of long setae.
Comments: Worldwide, eight species are included in Rhodococcus Borchsenius ( García Morales et al. 2016); only R. turanicus is known from Iran ( Kozár et al. 1996).
