Family PHOENICOCOCCIDAE Stickney View in CoL View at ENA
The family Phoenicococcidae contains only one species, Phoenicococcus marlatti Cockerell. The species was originally included in the Diaspididae , as subfamily Phoenicococcinae , by Stickney (1934) but more recently, various authorities have felt that P. marlatti should be elevated to family rank. It was listed as family Phoenicococcidae by Brown & McKenzie (1962). Phoenicococcus marlatti Cockerell has been recorded from Iran, and is briefly reviewed.
