Type Locality: Uganda, Lado Enclave, Rhino Camp.
Vernacular Names: Roosevelt's Shrew.
Distribution: Forest-savanna margin of the Central African forest block; records from Angola, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Dem. Rep. Congo, Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania ( Hutterer, 1981 a).
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Type species of subgenus Heliosorex Heller, 1910 . Genetic data suggest that this species is not closely related to C. dolichura and allies ( Querouil et al., In Press).
