Diagnosis: Carapace deeply grooved having granules on its surface, highly developed pubescent; its lateral processes thick. Mouth cavity triangular and exognathus
Distribution: India: Andaman Islands (Port Blair), Andra Pradesh (Visakhapatnam), Tamil Nadu (Palk Strait), West Bengal (Sandy belt of coastal areas of Digha Junput). Elsewhere: East coast of Africa, Singapore and Sri Lanka.
Remarks: This species is reported new to this area.
