This family is divided into four subfamilies, i.e., Dendrothripinae , Panchaetothripinae , Sericothripinae , and Thripinae ( Bhatti, 1989) . After the last checklist (Mirab-balou et al., 2011a), 122 species and 33 genera have been added to the fauna of China. Therefore, this family includes 412 species belonging to 107 genera.
