Distribution. Guangdong *, Hebei, Sichuan.
Note. Ophthalmothrips tenebronus (Han & Cui, 1991) transferred to the genus Compsothrips as a new combination (Dang et al., 2013b). Cryptothrips furvus Reyes was synonymized by that species. Finally, tenebronus was synonymized with C. sinensis by Dang et al. (2023d).
