Diagnosis

Small to large wasps, 5.0– 33 mm long; body metallic green or blue, some are black with some parts of body partly brown or red; wings hyaline, infumate or commonly banded. Antennal tubercles each with an overhanging, laterally carinated frontal lobe; metasternum Y-shaped, with arms extending posteriorly on each side of metasomal petiole that is inserted on same level between hind coxae; marginal cell of fore wing bent away from wing margin apically ( Bohart and Menke 1976; Krombein 1979; Ohl 2011).
