Type (lectotype, designated by Tanaka 2000a: 78):― Cambodia. Ad montem Cam-Chay in praef. Kampot, April 1874, L. Pierre 6679 ( P, barcode P00509917 !; iso-: P, barcode P00753537 *!) .
Other original material examined:― Cambodia. Ad montem Cam-Chay in praef. Kampot, May 1874, L. Pierre 6679 ( P, barcode P 00753532, P 00753533*). [Illustration]: A sheet of drawings made by E. Delpy in June 1904 of an inflorescence and floral parts from the lectotype, attached to the lectotype. Some of them are reproduced in Rodriguez (1934b: 658, fig. 64-8–12).
Note:―At P, there are four sheets of L. Pierre 6679, which comprise two different species.Two of them, P 00509917 (lectotype) and P 00753537 (isolectotype), were collected in April 1874, and are identified as Ophiopogon pierrei , whereas two others, P 00753532 and P 00753533*, were collected in May 1874, and are identified as O. intermedius Don (1825: 48) ( Tanaka 2000c).
