Material cited in the protologue:― Tonkin: Cho Ganh, coteaux calcaire ( Pételot).

Type ( lectotype, designated here):― Vietnam. Tonkin: Coteaux calcaires du Cho Ganh, May 1923, P. A. Pételot 1343 ( P, barcode P00753574 *!) ; iso-: P, barcode P00214600 !, P00753575 *!).

Note:―Both the lectotype and isolectotypes have a label inscribed by Diels with Peliosanthes dasystachys . This species closely resembles P. macrostegia Hance (1885: 328) , see Tanaka (2018), so it might represent a heterotypic synonym of the latter. However, further studies based on living plants from the type locality are needed to determine the identity.
