( Melania costata Olivier, 1804: 294 (footnote), pl. 31, fig. 3). Its type locality is: ‘ De Orontes [ Gesser-Chourl]’ [in the Orontes river , at Jisr Ash-Shughur], Syria , thus close to Israel. To this clade belongs also a specimen from Iraq.
