Cillenus (Corallicillenus) tsutsuii View in CoL (part): Marggi et al. 2003.

Diagnosis. Similar to B. tsutsuii ( Figs. 5 View FIGURES 1–9 , 11 View FIGURES 10–11 , 20 View FIGURES 12–24 ), but distinguished by blackish elytra ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1–9 ) and a narrower aedeagal apex ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 10–11 ).

Description. Body length (measured from mandible apices to elytral end): ♂, 4.12–4.27 mm (mean ± SD: 4.19 ± 0.074 mm) n=4; ♀, 4.14 mm, n=1. Dorsal surface of head, pronotum, elytral lateral margins and interval 1 reddish brown, remaining elytra blackish brown. Appendages light brown except for blackish brown to black inner margin of mandible apex.

Head ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1–9 ) longer than wide, with length from mandible apex to neck base 1.28–1.35 times longer than width between eyes; left mandible slightly convex at subapical inner margin; eyes moderate and almost flat, with the posterior edges in front of the posterior supraorbital setae.

Pronotum ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1–9 ) 1.33–1.39 times wider than long; maximum width 1.19 times wider than anterior margin; 1.40–1.43 times wider than posterior margin; anterior angles notably produced, with apices narrowly rounded; hind angles right to somewhat acute.

Elytra ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1–9 ) almost parallel-sided, 1.56–1.63 times longer than wide, with lateral margins weakly arcuate throughout; shoulders distinct; anterior discal setigerous puncture on basal 2/5, posterior one on apical 1/4; outermost intervals truncate and denticulate at subapical angle ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 1–9 ). Hind trochanter ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 1–9 ) short, about 1/ 3 as long as hind femur; apex rounded. Hind wings reduced.

Aedeagus ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 10–11 ) with apex relatively narrow. Parameres each with 2 setae at apex. Endophallus ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 12–24 ) with 3 lobes; ventromedian lobe small; dorsomedian lobe large, with apex narrowly rounded; gonoporal lobe small.

Sclerotized part of spermathecal apex ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 12–24 ) two times longer than wide.

Type materials. Holotype, ♂, ‘ Anbo , Yaku Is. Kagoshima Pref. 22. VII. 1984 M. Tao leg. ’; Paratypes, 3♂♂ 1♀, same data as holotype. Deposited in the collection of NSMT .
