Description of Deinococcus aquiradiocola View in CoL DaeR-4
Cells are Gramstainingnegative, nonflagellated, nonpigmented and rodshaped. Colonies are circular, raised, entire and yellowcolored after 2 days of incubation on R2 A at 25° C. Positive for β galactosidase in API 20NE, but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease, esculin hydrolysis and gelatinase. DGlucose, Larabinose, Dmannose, Dmannitol and Dmaltose are utilized. Does not utilize N acetylglucosamine, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate and phenylacetic acid. Strain DaeR4 (= NIBRBA0000113 891) has been isolated from a sediment sample of Daechung stream, Daejeon, Korea .
