Like 1 but not caespitose, with long rhizomes and overwintering rosettes; stem more densely pubescent; leaves with a conspicuous network of small veins; bracts conspicuous, leaf-like even at the ends of branches, usually 3-fid; outer involucral bracts linear; flowering later. In = 54. Naturalized on roadsides and waste places. W. & C. Europe. [Au Be Br Cz Ga Ge He Hs It Ju.] (S. W. China.)
