Biennial 30-80 cm. Involucral bracts 7—12. Achenes 1 -5-3 cm, with alternately smooth and minutely tuberculate ribs; annulus hairy. Pappus 1 -5-1-8 cm. Sandy hillsides and river-valleys. S.E. Russia.
