Positive for glucose fermentation, esculin hydrolysis, and arginine dihydrolase, urease, and β -galactosidase activities in API 20NE. Negative for nitrate reduction, indole production and gelatinase activity. D-Glucose, D-mannitol, L-arabinose, D-mannose, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, malic acid, and trisodium citrate are utilized. Does not utilize potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, and phenylacetic acid. Strain C32 (= NIBRBA0000114168) was isolated from a seawater sample, Yeongdeok-gun, Korea.
