Type:— CHINA. Sichuan [Szechuan]: Mt Emei [Omei], Yu Xian Si , elev. ca. 2100 m, 18 July 1930, W. P. Fang 6640 ( NAS00071820 About NAS , lectotype designated by Fang 1939; isolectotypes CQNM0002906 About CQNM , IBSC0436540 About IBSC , PE00022814 ).
= Acer stachyophyllum Hiern in Hooker (1875: 694).
Note:—In the protologue, Fang (1932) cited a single gathering Fang 6640 but did not specify the herbarium where the type specimen is deposited. Later, Fang (1939) stated that the type was deposited at Sci (which represents the Herbarium of Biological Laboratory , the Science Society of China, now at NAS). Therefore, Fang achieved to designate the lectotype for the name.
