Host. The specimen was collected with a Malaise trap placed among Acacia raddiana trees infested by Agrilus roscidus Kiesenwetter ( Coleoptera : Buprestidae ).
Distribution. United Arab Emirates ( UAE), Egypt (new record).
Remarks. The Egyptian specimen greatly resembles those described from UAE (examples, see Figs 1,4), except for very few characters: posterior margin of pronotum reddish to reddish brown as the rest ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 4 ) (golden in UAE specimens); basitarsi of all legs yellowish with dark apices (all are light brown in UAE specimens); basal spine on ventral margin of hind femur dark brown, rest of teeth are whitish with dark apices and bases ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 4 ) (all are whitish in UAE specimens); basal end of pronotal neck distinctly U-shaped ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 4 ) (obtusely V-shaped in Arabian specimens). Until further specimens are collected, we consider these differences to be intraspecific.
