Distribution: South Africa to S Sudan and Ethiopia; Cameroon; Liberia; Nigeria; Guinea.
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: capensis species group. Includes alticolus and bembanicus ; see Koopman (1975) and Hayman and Hill (1971).
