Note: —Pichi-Sermolli (1985: 138) lists this species for Rwanda and D.R. Congo on the Virunga Volcanoes. However, the plants from Central Africa (e.g., J.Louis 5268, BR0000025000245) differ from the isotypes at P and S and we consider them as forms of Asplenium aethiopicum s.l. One isotype in P (P00483584) has even been annotated as A. volkensii by Pichi-Sermolli in 1976. A. lademannianum is accepted by Viane (2021) for Southern Africa.
