"Habitat in Austria, G. Narbonensi, Italia praecipue ad Vesuvium." RCN: 5457.

Lectotype (Wijnands in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 36. 1993): Herb. Linn. No. 914.1 ( LINN) .

Generitype of Colutea Linnaeus (vide Green, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 175. 1929).

Current name: Colutea arborescens L. subsp. arborescens View in CoL ( Fabaceae : Faboideae ).

Note: Browicz (in Monogr. Bot. 14: 29. 1963) indicated unspecified and unseen material in LINN as type but did not distinguish between three sheets (914.1-3, LINN) there. They do not appear to be part of a single gathering so Art. 9.15 does not apply. Wijnands (Bot. Commelins: 164. 1983) stated "the type is probably LINN 914.1", and formalised this in 1993.
