Diagnosis. Paratropis are distinguished from Anisaspis Simon, 1892 and Anisaspoides F. O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1896 by the presence of PMS ( Fig. 1B View FIGURE 1 ) absent in the latter ( Sherwood et al. 2022); from Stormtropis males by the presence of third claw on tarsi I (absent in P. minuscula ), absent in Stormtropis ( Pérafan et al. 2019) but females of Stormtropis have no distinguishable morphological characters from Paratropis .

Distribution. Mexico, French Guiana, Venezuela, Guyana, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil and, Peru.
