Chroococcidiopsis aff. kashayi Friedmann (1961) ( Fig. 9K–P View FIGURE 9 ).
Colonies round or solitary cells, 8.06–20.46 µm diam. Sheath firm, conspicuous, 0.39–1.32 µm wide, smooth, non-lamellated, greenish-yellow or brown to reddish-brown. Cell spherical to hemispherical, 2.77-7-33 µm wide. Cell content homogenous, blue-green. Individual envelopes firm, 0.4–1.36 µm wide, smooth, non-lamellated, yellowish-brown to reddish-brown. Presence of baeocytes.
Habitat:— Clay brick.
Notes:— The morphotype has a life cycle that resembles Chroococcidiopsis kashayi Friedmann , from which it differs by sheath color and habitat ( Friedmann, 1961).
