Aphanothece densa Lemes-da-Silva, Branco & Necchi-Júnior (2010: 917) ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 :M).
Colonies round to irregular, 12.3–45.01 µm diam., without sub-colonies. Sheath firm, thin, 0.54–0.82 µm wide, non-lamellate, hyaline. Cells densely disposed, oblong, 2.04–4.37 µm diam., 3.22–4.96 µm long. Without individual envelopes. Cell content homogenous, bright green.
Habitat:— Dry tree bark associated to Chlorogloea sp.1 and Chroococcidiopsis sp.1 .
